R-codes

Once you have a subdividable block of land, the first thing you need to know is the R-Code.

This is important because the R-Code gives you your basic building parameters, including a minimum site area per dwelling that will determine how many dwellings you can fit on the block once it’s subdivided. R-Codes also tell you the new titles’ minimum frontage, setbacks and rear lot sizes, plus any other mandatories such as requirements for open space, communal areas and outdoor living.
